MoDDD student and soon to be graduate David Anderson recently returned from a trip to Nepal where he worked on two projects with Aussie Action Abroad. The first was a medical post for the remote village of Siurung and a mothers group hall for the village of Amar Jotty – both in Lamjung.
According to David, “the exploratory visits to each community was very much better informed by having just completed the MoDDD degree. This time around I felt better equipped having solidified an understanding of community development. It was interesting that, even though I have been doing this for a while, having undertaken the studies and subjects associated with the MoDDD degree, I felt more grounded”.
David is one of a group of seven students who will be the first to graduate from MoDDD in December 2017. We are looking forward to featuring stories about their projects and their successes in future editions of the newsletter.
